Welcome
I am Kelly Isenor, MSW RSW - Clinical Specialist
A registered social worker and private practitioner in Nova Scotia and Ontario, I provide trauma-informed individual therapy to adults who are seeking assistance with:
– Mental health
– Coping with life transitions and events
– Adverse childhood experiences
– Event processing and PTSD
– Emotional regulation
– Behaviour change

With a background in psychology and social work, I use best-available practices to inform myself and those I work with. Depending on the presenting problem, I use aspects of CBT, DBT, Prolonged Exposure, and Somatic Experiencing. My goal is to engage clients in psychoeducation, skill development and narrative processing, to help them best understand their emotional, physiological and behaviour-based responses.
I believe that learning about topics such as the mind-body connection, emotional development, identities and relational roles help us to create a greater understanding of oneself and those around us.
I enjoy working with Trauma-Exposed Professionals to help them learn ways in which they can counteract the physiological and mental impacts of their professions, as well as process traumatic events that they have experienced.
If you visit me in-office you may meet my dog, Olive. She is a 10lb terrier mix who enjoys snuggles and has volunteered with Therapeutic Paws of Canada to provide Animal-Assisted Support in settings such as nursing homes, universities, victim services and government offices.
My previous area of work in direct service provision include members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, the neurodivergent community, the spoonie/chronic illness community and those that have experienced intimate partner/domestic violence, sex trafficking, forensic psychiatric services, military life, first-responder careers, and adverse childhood experiences.
